Master-Guro Joe Abueg
Master-Guro Joe Abueg is the owner
with a background in Arnis De Mano (Filipino Knife and Stick
Fighting), and Kenpo Karate. He studied the art of Arnis
under the direction of Master Narrie Babao in 1979. He
later trained with Master Dan Cepeda in the art of Kenpo about
four years later.
"Master Dan Cepeda and his wife, Arlene, have been like a second
set of parents to me. They have been my personal
counselors for the past 25 years and I have learned a great deal
from both of them. Master Dan Cepeda sold the studio to me
in 1995. We have continued the tradition of the studio
which has now been in business for over 33 years."

STUDIO HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
|
|
|
 Cepeda-Abueg Martial Arts was established in 1974
by the founder, Master-Guro Dan Cepeda and his brother, Master-Guro Fred
Cepeda. Master Dan Cepeda started his training in Kenpo in
1966 with Master Brian Adams, who was one of the first generation
Black Belts of the late Grandmaster of Kenpo Karate, Mr. Ed Parker.
In the mid 1970's, Master Dan trained with Master Narrie Babao in the
Art of Arnis De Mano. Master Dan Cepeda transferred the studio
to his student, Master-Guro Joe Abueg in 1995. Cepeda-Abueg
Martial Arts is currently owned by Guro Joe Abueg. Classes
are offered in the dynamic Arts of Kenpo and Arnis De Mano to
people of all ages.

Montgomery Hi School Culture Nights |
Mr. Robert Ricasa coordinated a demo by Cepeda-Abueg for the 2006
Culture Night. More than 16 groups took part in this event
promoting diversity.
